Macsumsuk Growfeed Research with Broilers Chicken

The Apostle’s Farm in the Philippines researched the

effects of Macsumsuk Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral

from May 2010 to June 2010 on chicken ages 21 to 28

weeks. The experiment compared a control group which

did not receive the Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral and

to an experimental group which received 0.5% of

Growfeed (E.G. Power) mineral added to their diet. The

experiment was performed on 100 laying chickens in

each of the two groups.

Results of the Experiment

The experimental group gained more weight more quickly than the control group.

The experimental group had lower values of total cholesterol in the blood as well as in GOT and

GPT tests of liver function.

The experimental group had higher concentration of IgG, which indicates the greater immune

system function.

The experimental group showed higher water-holding capacity, an indication of the meat quality,

than the control group.

The experimental group had higher unsaturated fatty acid than the control group whereas the

control group had higher saturated fatty acids.
